Setting Reporting Services in SQL Express 2008 R2
During the setup I don’t specify the user and the service start normally. I open the configuration utility, in database I set Windows account and for the account I write PcName\WindowsUser (my Windows user is without pwd). The connection test run. If I click the link in the “URL Web service” the system ask user and password, I write my WindowsUser, but I can't access to the next Web page. The same with “URL report management”, the system ask user and password. Why? I try with my Windows user but nothing!

Hello Francesco, After you have configurated Reporting Services, please start the Internet Explorer as admin, means: Right-Mouse click on IE icon => "Run as Administrator". Then open the report manager url, it should work. Navigate to "Side settings" (at top on the right), goto tab "Security" and add your Windows account as system administrator. Afterware you should be able to logon report manager without starting IE as admin.Olaf Helper * cogito ergo sum * errare humanum est * quote erat demonstrandum * Wenn ich denke, ist das ein Fehler und das beweise ich tglich Blog Xing

are you local admin on your PC? try Olaf said, run IE as administrator and open report manager URL. Remember there are two parts you need add your current user in: 1. Site Settings - add yourself as site admin 2. Home page - properties - security - add yourself as all roles (normally I choose) If you think my suggestion is useful, please rate it as helpful.
