Set as default mysite not showing
In our environment we have sharepoint 2007 and have installed sharepoint 2010 on a seperate server. When I go to sharepoint 2010, then mysite it NEVER prompted or prompts for "set as my default mysite" like 2007 did. I'm running office 2010 32bit.
When I go to outlook my "picture" in account settings will take me to my sharepoint 2007 mysite. Seems a little dissappointing. Any resolution?

Hi Bryan,
Cause:
The registry keys used by the SharePoint My Site server to connect to the PortalConnectCore.Dll are not installed by Office 2010.
Resolution:
The following registry keys are needed in order to get the expected behavior when working with a SharePoint My Site server:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite]
@="PersonalSite Class"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CLSID]
@="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}"
Let me know if you have any questions on this.

it's already there. I just never see, "set as my default".

Check these as well:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite\CurVer]
@="PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1]
@="PersonalSite Class"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PortalConnect12.PersonalSite.1\CLSID]
@="{E7339A62-0E31-4A5E-BA3D-F2FEDFBF8BE5}"

those were there as well, I had to put those in for my sharepoint 2007 mysite to work in office. I am not sure why it's not asking me if I go to 2007 and tell it to make it the default, that when I go back to sharepoitn 2010 it doesn't ask me to make
it the default.

Hi Bryan,
I think at this point, your best bet is to open up a Service Request with Microsoft as we will need to take a deeper look at this issue.
