Hi,

I have a workflow that sets a SharePoint group to a people picker column but it fails when running it.

The column is set with multiple selection and when i enter the item, i can pick the group.

The error i receive when running the workflow is:

"The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information"

Any thoughts?

Hi Arevach,

For this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:

1.  Make sure that the People and Groups is selected for the field in the list.

2.  Make sure that you have permission to update that item.

As a workaround, I recommend to use Set Field in Current Item action instead in the workflow.
