Hi Blue Iceberg,Thanks for your reply. I logged in as an administrator which is a service account. I have checked the logfiles and the event viewer but everything seems to be ok. The main problem that I have is, when I click on the Services on server tab it shows the page but the server role is disabled and I don't see any of the services to start in the below table. The reason I'm looking at the Services on Server tab is to start the Windows Sharepoint services Incoming email but I don't see this option in the below table since everything is grayed out. One of the other question that I have is, I do not see any activities in the Timer Job Status. To go to Timer job status click on (Central Administration > Operations > Timer Job Status) there I don't see any activities except the "Child farm content source discover" and "Sku Type Syncronization Job". Do you think I dont see any activities here because the services are not started in the Services on Server page. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

To enable incoming emailCentral Administration > Operations > Incoming E-Mail Settings. However, this doesnt install the smtp service, to install the smtp service on IIS6 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8b83ac7t.aspxIIS7 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772058(WS.10).aspxThis does not resolve the first issue of not being able to view the services on server.. Have you picked your server from the drop down? Also, you can stsadm -o enumservices or pipe it to a txt file stsadm -o enumservices>services.txtLet us know what you find....-IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.

Hi Ivan Thanks for your reply. I have already installed the smtp and and also configured the incoming email correctly but until I start the service for incoming email in the Services on Server table it wont start. The problem here is, I wont see any services to start in the central admin > Services on Server page. Do you want me to run the SharePoint products and technologies config wizard. Can you pls let me know what happens if I run the config wizard, do I get the same site back without any damage ? Thanks --

Hi rebel537, In terms of your description, I think the configuration has not finished. I suggest you to run the SharePoint products and technologies configuration wizard again to see if this can complete successfully. If only you select “Do not disconnect from this server farm” in the second step and select “No, this machine will continue to host the web site” in the third step when you run the configuration wizard, you can keep the same site back without any damage. And I agree with you about the Timer Job Status problem and you can check it after you start the services. For more information about the Timer Job Status, please refer to:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc678870.aspx Let me know if you have further questions!Hope it is helpful!
