Service Unavailable
As you can see in the title, I got an Service Unavailable error when i start up my Sharepoint. I can probally guess why it gives this error but i can't find a solution. I've copied a SharePoint envoirment to an diffrent VMware server. Now i've configurated the Ip's diffrent and let the sharepoint join a diffrent domain. Which means my users are tottally diffrent now. Anyways, I manged to gave the administrator of the new domain full controll of the databases of sharepoint and the services. Everything is running and there should be no problem. But more then ''Service Unavailable'' can't be found. Does anyone had this problem before? Thanks already

I would chalk this up to a great learning experience about how not to handle the move/migration. A few notes: Servername and domain information is saved in the Config Database, essentially the "farm" that configured before is no longer valid. You can try and update all of the service accounts to use the new domain accounts (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838) but ultimately the easiest path at this point may be to configure a new farm and then attach to the existing content databases (i.e. WSS_Content) to bring over the sites. You would then need to migrate the user accounts for the users, or add in all of the new user accounts.SharePoint Server MVP | Architect | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com

I can access the ''Emtpy'' sharepoint in my browser at the moment. Could you please explain to me how i can ''attach my sharepoint to an existing content databases (i.e. WSS_Content) to bring over the sites''. That will help me a lot! Thanks for your time, Kind Regards. -Tim Ververs

'Service Unavailable' normally refers to the IIS web application not running. Have you checked this? If SharePoint can't connect to the configuration DB you would probabably get a '404 Page cannot be found error' - however if IIS is not running, then you might get this next! Have you ran the SharePoint config wizard after the migration? Did it run successfully?Regards, Aaron www.aaron-rendell.co.uk

Hi, Have you checked to see if the IIS web applicaton is running for the web site in question? Regards, Aaron www.aaron-rendell.co.uk The application is not running because the services cannot start because the computer and accounts used create the system are no longer valid.SharePoint Server MVP | Architect | Developer | Administrator | Speaker-- Twitter -- Blog - http://nextconnect.blogspot.com

I have checked the IIS applications, They seem to run. Even tho my sharepoint isn't working. The configuration can run successfully when i keep it at the same farm. If i disconnect from the farm, and create a new one. It seems to fail
