Server Responds Too Slowly
I have a sharepoint 2007 that I have setup. It has been working fine. Lately it responds too slowly. This is not a one box setup. I have 2 machines. One housing SQL and Exchange. The second is the sharepoint itself. They are all virtual. I allocated 2gb to the sharepoint and 1.5gb to the othe machine How can i get the sharepoint to respond the way it was when i first had it running. I haven't been haviung much request to it because it is just for me and a couple of people to play around with. thank you. your responses will be very well appreciated.

Hi, When you were setting up your virtual environment, did you consider the option of an expanding virtual harddrive or a fully pre-allocated virtual harddrive. The latter has better performance returns. Try defragmenting the virtual harddrives after a shutdown. Check also if your virtual network speed is set to LAN or you had previously reduced it (someone did that once and it was all snail speed) to some WAN connection speed or Dial Up connection speed. Finally, check the OutPut Cache settings at the Site collection level >> Settings >> Site Administration >> Site Output Cache. You've only got one life; help as many people as you can, and enjoy it while it lasts.
