Server 2008r2 WSS3.0 Exchange 2007
Hello, I've setup a test Server with Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2007 for my study. Now i've installed WSS 3.0 but the use the same port 80, so i changed the port of the sharepoint server to 88, but now I get the error: This process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. Is there a way to solve this?Kind regards.

It was not recommended to install Exchange 2007 on the same server as WSS 3.0. If you look hard enough you may find a paper (one did exist - maybe a KB article maybe not) on how to do it. (Yes, MS first told you not to do it and then wrote a paper on how to do it!) (I suspect you need to install SharePoint first as that's usually the case) SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Hi, I agree with Mike. The installation of WSS 3.0 is not supported on a system where Exchange Server installed. This can lead several issue like e-mail integration, IIS problem and DLL file confliction etc. The installation of WSS 3.0 is not supported on a system if any of the following programs or technologies are installed: • Microsoft Exchange Server (any version) • Microsoft Site Server (any version) • Microsoft Office Server Extensions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825505 Since this Knowledgebase article is also applicable to Exchange 2007 Server. > The installation of SharePoint Portal Server is not supported on a system where Exchange Server installed. I suspect that you are using the wrong quote. a) he specifically asked about WSS 3.0 b) WSS 3.0 is a SharePoint 2007 product - there is no SP 2007 product called SharePoint Portal Server as the only products with that name are from 2003 or 2001. (I do still think that your conclusions are correct and would apply to WSS 3.0 - it's just that "SharePoint Portal Server" is the wrong name) MikeSP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters
