Serious ReportServerTempDB Problem
I know what I did to mess up my reporting services, I just cant seem to figure out a repair. I made the mistake of pointing a test 2008 R2 reporting services at my production 2005 report server. I then could not pull up my reports on my old server, version conflict. I then restored my ReportServer db from backup but was still getting an error. It looks like I should have been backing up my ReportServerTempDB. Now, when I try to run any of my reports, I get the following error: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Invalid object name 'ReportServerTempDB.dbo.PersistedStream'. Any suggestions to what my options are? I still have my rdl's and could re-create the reportserver db if I have to and restore the individual reports. Just not sure where to go from here. Any help is much appreciated. -jbrittain

Hi hbjammz77, According to the error message you have provided, most likely that you have renamed the ReportServerTempdb database. This error occurs because the ReportServerTempdb name is stored internally and used by stored procedures to perform internal operations. Renaming the temporary database will prevent the stored procedures from working properly. I suggest you to recreate a new ReportServer/ReportServerTempDB pair to resolve the issue just as you said. For more details about the topic, please refer to the following article, Administering a Report Server Database: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159093.aspx If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
