Security updates takes long time to install through Software Center

Hi Folks,

We have a setup with SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 as a Primary Site server where SUP also enabled. I deployed the windows security updates to the test servers collection by deployment type as Available.

I verified in test servers that all the deployed security updates are listed under Software Center client, but when I checked all the updates and tried to install. it is taking long time to install . Most of the time the updates are in waiting to install status and finally ends up in failed state with error codes 0xc80003f3, 0x8007000e. Have verified all the logs windowsupdate.log, Updatesdeployment.log, WUHandler.log are points to the same error code. Found that multiple SVChost.exe process consumes more memory during patching process.

However we have enough physical memory(2 GB) and page memory( Min 2 GB to Max 4 GB) configured on the servers (Windows 2012 R2 SP1) .  Need some guidance in further troubleshooting...

Both 0xc80003f3 & 0x8007000e = out of memory.

Thanks for the update Jones..

I do have a question here ..Since the deployment type is made as "Available" the updates are not downloaded to the client locally as soon as deployed. Do we have any option in SCCM to have the updates downloaded to the client/server locally in the background as soon as deployed ? I assume the option is as same as in WSUS group policy setting option "3-Auto download and notify for Install"

I know the "Required" deployment type will do but I do not want the updates to auto install by defining the deadline.

No that does not exist within CM12.
