Security update update sharepoint db schema?
Current Sharepoint is Moss 2007 SP2 12.0.0.6421 there was a security update on this server my server after the security update, it break sharepoint because schema was update. "The schema version (3.1.8.0) of the database is not consistent with the expected database schema version (3.1.11.0)" why is this happening, those kb seem to be server kb not sharepoint kb, why is it update sharepoint schema db? Now when i check my sp farm it is now 12.0.0.6565. The upgrade command fixed the issue with schema ,but not sure if i should just leave it like it is or do something.

Hi, According to my experience, this issue appears due to inconsistent update installation in a SharePoint farm. So please check all SharePoint servers, make sure they are on the same version. For more information about SharePoint version, please refer to the following article: http://insomniacgeek.com/how-to-determine-the-installed-sharepoint-version/ For detailed information about the explanation of this issue, check out the following article: http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/adlaim/archive/2007/10/26/the-schema-version-3-0-149-0-of-the-database-sps-content-db-on-moss.aspx Thanks, Rock Wang Forum Support Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help. Hi, Login into your central admin and in the landing page check the versions in each server in your farm. After that execute config wizard in each server in your farm one by one starting from central admin server. I hope this will help you out. Thanks, Rahul Rashu
