Security issue with Windows 10

I have installed Notepad++ using the default installation in C:\Programs Files (x86)\Notepad++ and using a modified installation in D:\Notepad++. The version running from C:\ drive starts without an issue, the version running from D:\ drive gets the following error every time I start Notepad++

This happens with other apps installed on the D:\ as well. Can someone tell me why this is happening? I have set the .exe files to run as administrator and I am logged in as administrator. I installed the applications while logged in as administrator. I have read many articles about UAC on the Microsoft site and others but I have found nothing that I can use to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I have tested on my computer and there is no such issue. And I just uncheck this option under Properties of notepad++.exe, compatibility tab: Run as an administrator.

There is no such issue.

Your issue can be explained that you would like this app require a full administrator access token to perform their functions or tasks.

However, we don't recommend to check this item. You should only allow a shortcut or program that you trust to "run as administrator" since it will have full unrestricted access to everything on your computer until closed. This can be very bad if the program is malware.

Kate,

Thanks for replying, however I have tried your suggestion and in my case it does not work. There is a lot of inconsistencies in Windows 10 and this appears to be one of them. It seems to be related to the fact that my Notepad++ has been installed on D:\, as I mentioned if I install in C:\Program files (x86) there are no problems. I have been given a fix by Mohammed Yaseer at the Microsoft Community website that works but it is a bit messy, the fix is by Ronnie Vernon and can be found at:

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it. If you have any information on why this might occur I would appreciate hearing it.
