Secure OOTB default.aspx page from outside access
Our environment is MOSS 2007; Windows 2008 64 bit. Site build using minimal publishing tempalte. Lockdown feature enabled. FBA secured subsites. Our external facing site landing page is /pages/Apage.aspx. Annonymous access is allowed. We have branded site with master pages and pagelayouts etc. Issue here is that backend access to OOTB /default.aspx page is still allowed. not only on the top level site but also on any subsequent sub-sites. One of the sub-sites is secured using FBA. Is there a way to block access and only allow certain group of people access to back end default.aspx page?

If anonymous access is enabled on the site, the default site will always remain accessible. You can either: Create a non visual control that you drop on the page that checks for authentication and if not, redirects the page. The same could be done with a JQuery script injected into a content editor web part on the page. Crack open the site in SPD and set the default HOME page for the site, to the page you use as the default. Start with item #6 from this page: http://www.endusersharepoint.com/2010/01/11/site-level-customizations-and-settings-using-sharepoint-designer-2010/ I trust that answers your question...ThanksChttp://www.cjvandyk.com/blog
