Secondary site keeps reappearing
I have an old SCCM 2007 SP2 secondary site that I deleted via the SCCM admin console. After a few days, it reappears. I deleted it again and use preinst to delete any jobs and ensure the site was not in the database. After a few days, it is appeared back again. I remember having a similar problem in the past but cannot locate what I did to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for the help.

See the below from my original post. I have already used preinst and the site reappears. I deleted it again and use preinst to delete any jobs and ensure the site was not in the database. After a few days, it is appeared back again.

Yes, I have. Below are the methods I have tried to do to clean the site up. Both methods show that the site was removed from the child primary and central sccm databases. 1st Attempt (machine reappeared in SCCM console on both child primary and central within a few days) Deleted site via SCCM console selecting Delete instead of deinstall on child primary Use preinst /deljob <<sitecode>> on child primaryUse preinst /delsite <<site>> <<child primary site>> on the central server 2nd Attempt (machine reappeared in SCCM console on both child primary and central within a few days) Use preinst /delsite <<site>> <<child primary site>> on the child primaryUse preinst /deljob <<sitecode>> on child primaryUse preinst /delsite <<site>> <<child primary site>> on the central server

I'm going to ask the stupid question: Is that particular secondary site...the server itself, still existing in your environment? If so... are you SURE you've logged into that server, and from Add/Remove Programs uninstalled the Secondary Site components? If the server that is the secondary site is actually still live on your network it will (for lack of a better term) send a heartbeat to the primary site... and the primary site adds it right back. Because it's still live.Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

Good grief. I feel stupid. That server is in a region that I do not have access to. I just assume it had been shutdown but I checked and it was not. Thanks for the help.
