Secondary site Design configuration questions
stuck for a smaller site design question. Help me to get out of this question(Hierarchy in Native Mode)… I have a Primary site called “PR1” where it has 30000 clients are directly reporting and working fine. We recently started business in new location with 500 systems and installed a secondary site called SEC. We have not yet configured the site settings and roles(Planing to have Proxy Management Point and DP and SUP). Now my team raised questions / Concerns as below. 1) What happened if Site Boundary and Discovery enables at SECsite? What is the site code will get the clients in secondary site? Will clients use Proxy MP here? Pros and Cons for the above design? 2) If we enable the Site Boundary and Discovery methods at Primary Site? Not enabled at secondary site. What is the site code will get for clients? Will the clients not use's the Proxy MP ? Pros and Cons for the above design? 3) What is the suggested / recommended method? 4) What happens if we enabled site boundaries in Primary site and secondary site?

1) Clients will always become assigned to the primary site. If you have boundaries and a PMP at the secondary site, clients will use that site even if they are assigned to a primary site (provided that they fall into the defined boundaries). 2) You should create boundaries at the secondary site. Discovery at the parent site is OK, as long as you know that client push will also take place from the primary site. 3) Boundaries at the secondary and enable PMP, DP, PXE and perhaps a SUP 4) As long as the boundaries are unique, then you are ok - that's the way to do it.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund
