i have scoured the net for an answer and nothing yet has resolved my issue... I have recently installed a new Secondary site that is not appearing in the admin console. i have installed it locally on the secondary site. the secondary site is installed on a DC the machine account is in the sitetositeconnectionxxx and the local admin group on the primary site logs: there is one error in teh configmgrsetup.log <10-01-2010 12:32:25> Failed to set security on SQL Server registry key. Error: 2 the sender.log is showing successful communication to the primary site schedule.log is showing send request successfully completed the hman.log on the primary - has 1 indication of the new secondary site; CPublicKeyLookup::UpdateCurrentKey("CEN", .... then No parent site to forward CT4 file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\hman.box\CEN.CT4 to. Deleting. i can see the secondary site in AD I have manually exchanged the keys between sites i have tried to create an address on the primary site but it shows as unknown An autodiscover on teh secondary site shows teh correct site code. any suggestions would be very welcome

Looks ok so far. How long did you wait? Have you already refreshed the console? Have you tried closing and reopening it?

ive just looked at the security permissions on the systems management container in AD and the machine name does not exist in list. (all other sites are listed?)

That's another issue then. You have to grant permissions to the System Management container, but that does not prevent the sites from communicating (especially when exchanging the keys manually). Any errors in despool.log then?

ok, permissioned that manually. i have just checked my logs again and discovered this entry in the hman.log on the primary site server The parent site F01 for site CEN doesn't exist, discard the site control file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\hman.box\7VGKG8X1.CX7 SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER 06/10/2010 00:01:42 6748 (0x1A5C) "The parent site F01" is not my parent site ?! infact is not any site ?

ive removed trhe secondary site and reinstalled. it is appearing in the console now.
