Second TS Fails after Machine Resumes from prestaged media in R3
HI I am using SCCM R3 Prestaged media option. I created a wim file using this new feature and prestaged it onto a test machine. After I boot the test machine It finds the new task sequence and starts to run it. It runs the few initial steps and then when it comes to Apply windows settings it immediately fails with the below error Booted from fixed disk TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) !sVolumeID.empty(), HRESULT=80004005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\framework\tscore\resolvesource.cpp,467) TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) !sTSMDataPath.empty(), HRESULT=80070002 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\framework\tscore\resolvesource.cpp,1395) TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) TS::Utility::GetTSMDataPath(rsPath), HRESULT=80070002 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\tasksequence\bootshell\configpath.cpp,231) TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) Failed to find the current TS configuration path TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) ConfigPath::FindConfigPath(sConfigPath), HRESULT=80070002 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\tasksequence\bootshell\bootshell.cpp,550) TSBootShell 10/29/2010 8:49:49 AM 772 (0x0304) Failed to find the configuration path. Eric, Thanks for the reply. One of my buddies was able to figure this out . Looks like documentation in the help file for R3 is incorrect on setting Prestaged option. Help file says ---------------------------- Prestaged media is designed to work with existing task sequences. If you are using the default task sequence you created by selecting the Install from existing image package from the New Task Sequence wizard, you must include additional conditions to prevent the files prestaged on the drive from being removed. To do this you can add the following Task Sequence Variable condition for the Partition Disk action and the Apply Operating System Image action: _SMSTSMediaType not equals OEMmedia --------------------- However, I think setting up the following condition variable on Apply Operating System Step is not necessary. _SMSTSMediaType not equals OEMmedia
