Hello Friends,

Can you please guide me on how to search items from a single list? I want to use the site collection settings like Result sources option to get the details.

Should I create a page and use Search Results and Search box web part? What will be the configuration of the Result Source?

Can you please provide me step-by-step process on how to do that?

Hi

for single list, configuring search is not good solution.

You can create webpart or application page or content editor and use csom,jsom or server object model to query the list using caml query.

This will return the number of results and later on you can do formatting the way you want.

You need to create a web part page and add a content search web part in it and configure the query of the web part as explained in this blog post.
