Search result returning application server name instead of AAM name

My Intranet portal built in Enterprise 2010 is returning application server name instead of the Alternate Access Mapping name of server, which should be 'sdintranet'. I have marked in the below image my concern. The search is returning correct results but the source URL has the application server name 'qdhqspap1'. I need to replace this name with 'sdintranet'.

Have I missed any configurations in Central Admin? Please advice.

Hi Zakir,

Please make sure the alternate access mapping is correct and you are querying from correct zone.

Depending upon the zone the results will be displayed.

Amol

Hi Zakir,

Did you access SharePoint search site with URL http://sdintranet? If not, please log onwith this URL, then search and check results again.

If it sitll doesn't work, please also check and make sure http://sdintranet is set aspublic URL for web application Default Zone in AAM configuration page.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

There is no separate SharePoint Search Site. We have one intranet with URL 'http://sdintranet' and yes I search this intranet with the same URL 'http://sdintranet' but the issue as I explained above is search results displaying source URL as 'http://qdhqspap1'.

I checked AAM in Central Admin site and found that http://sdintranet is set to Intranet zone and the http://qdhqspap1 is set to default zone.

Hi Zakir,

As mentioned by Daniel you need to swap your Public URLs around so that http://sdintranet is default zone and http://qdhqspap1 is intranet zone. It should then display the correct URL in your search results.

Thanks Daniel & Grant for your contribution.

The sdintranet is now appearing in search results but not after changing the AAM configurations in Central Admin but creating a Server Name Mappings where I mentioned 'http://qdhqspap1/' as Address in index and 'http://sdintranet' as Address in search results.

Then in the scope I changed the Folder Name to 'http://sdintranet' and selected ContentSource as 'Local SharePoint Sites'. After few span of time I performed a full crawl and my http://sdintranet' started appearing in all search results.

Strange is I didn't changed the AAM configurations as you mentioned. 'http://sdintranet' is still Intranet zone and 'http://qdhqspap1' is still default zone but my search results are working as I needed.

Thanks.
