Search deleted folder and see results that may contain the text I searched for, but cannot view/open any of the result messages

When I do a search of my deleted messages folder, I get results showing messages that should contain the key word I was searching for. The problem is that if I have read the deleted message (marked as read) the preview screen (that shows the text of the highlighted message) is total blank and double clicking on the message to open it does nothing (should open the message). If the message is unread, it works as it should (showing up on the preview screen and I am able to open it). I can move from message to message, but there is nothing in the preview screen and I cannot open any messages. Unread messages shown on the result screen show up just fine and I can preview them and open them. I cannot open/preview them if they have been read.

This bug makes the search feature totally worthless on the deleted folder. I have closed outlook and reopened it with no change and run Outlook in safe mode, also with the same results.

I am on Windows 10, but the reporting system does not list this as an option. I guess this team does not realize that their company has released Windows 10 yet.

I am running Outlook 2016 MSO (16.0.4229.1006) 32-bit.

I am using Office 365 as my Microsoft Exchange Server.

Hi,

Sorry for replying late.

I did a test on my Outlook 2016 MSO (16.0.4229.1017), the issue was not found. You may try to update Office 2016 to the latest build then check the result.
