Scheduling a Application to rerun on a schedule

I need to sepersede a previous application (DeviceLock) than runs on users computers as a service to prevent users writing to USB drives with a newer updated software.

However, when the new application is installed and a USB is connected it will not install the new software correctly erroring out with a return code.

This has happened on around 75% of computers (we use bitlocker and most users leave their usb keys connected in most cases).

In SCCM 2007 (and 2012 packages) I would create a schedule to rerun if failed previous attempt every day, is there a way to replicate this bahaviour in the new SCCM 2012 Application?

And if this is not possible using Applications and I need to use a Package, how can I supersede an Application with a Package?

Hi,

Applications doesn't have a Schedule that you can rerun, the client will evaluate that all of the installatios was succesful on a computer by default on a 7 dyas interval. that is what it uses the detection method for.

It will also detect it on login in the computer and you can manually trigger the action "Applicaton deployment evaluation cycle" So you shouldn't have to recreate a package for it to rerun, as long as the detection method is correct and it sounds like it is as you 75% failed in the console.
