Scheduling Reports in SSRS
Hi All,I tried to subscribe the reports by both Email notification and Windows File Share notification. when i check the subscriptions as per scheduled time i found the following error in the report subscription properties. "Failure in writing the file : an impersonation error occured using the security context of the current user in SSRS" in case of Windows File Share and I got " Failure sending mail: The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x800ccc15. The Server response was not available." in the case of E-Mail respectively.I had added the Reporting Services Service Account user in the permission list of the Reporting services Database which holds the respective report. But still i faced the above mentioned error.Kindly key down your valuable suggestions in this regard. It is most welcome, to get docs, links describing step by step procedures or architecture for Report Subscriptions, if any from you. ThanksSahul

Hi, Is your machine part of a domain? If you are running this on a workgroup, then AFAIK, the windowsfile share has issues with it. HTH, Suprotim Agarwal

Hi, I s your reporting services and the Database Engine installed on the same server? If yes can you send a test mail from the database mail. Don't forget that whenever you made changes to your database mail setting you need to restart the SQL services. If this work, it should work for the reporting service. I had faced similar issue in the past. Kind regards

We're having the same issue with a SSRS 2005 instance. Hello, Microsoft? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding ""Failure in writing the file : an impersonation error occured using the security context of the current user in SSRS" error, make sure the file share subscription account specified to access the share does have the "Logon locally" privilege. check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms160330.aspxon how to do this.

Thanks Neeraja,Unfortunately that tip did not work for me with a similiar problem. The "Failure writing file test.xls : An impersonation error occurred using the security context of the current user" still persists?Any other ideas? I have SSRS running on a server farm... and am communicating across the domain to another SQL 2005 Server. I am set up as admin on the Data Server Box and have full control of fileshare security / permissions. Thanks!

This may be resolved but something you can try that might fix it for those who are still looking for a fix for this.We had the same issue where we were successfully sending emails out via SSRS report schedules. A server admin installed a newer version of McAfee VirusScan 8.0. Access Protection/Port Blocking was configured to block port 25. When port 25 was renabled on the SSRS server the emails started to be sent again.Regards,Tim

Hi! Just to add a little more info to the post above related to McAfee. And it depends on how your network and security is configured in your environment. It happened to us too, we contacted our Security Admin and request to move the server to the proper OU, and then syncronized McAfee to receive the correct policies. After it we restarted server and everything started working again. Best regards Noravia
