Scheduling Maintenance Mode
Hello, I am trying the new MP for Schdeule Maintenance Mode but I am lost... http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2011/06/03/system-center-operations-manager-2007-r2-admin-reskit-released.aspx?CommentPosted=true I found already a blog from Steve Beaumont who corrected several point from the documentation but I still could you make it works anyway. I am able to create schedules and jobs but nothing is running and I could not find the rules to enable the trace either... I found it ... byt the find does not display it ... it might be a timing issue as 25,000 rules seems to be long to search... Any tests on this? Also the Schedule Maintenance Mode Management Pack is missing from the dropdown list to be used for the overrides... I don't know this MP, but only unsealed MP's are listed. So if this MP is listed, it will not show up in the dropdown list.Regards, Marc Klaver http://jama00.wordpress.com/

Hello, I am progressing as I was able to see the list of Jobs available after more waiting time.. it seems to be slow but it is okay!!! (: Then I received an alert "A Computer or Group was place back into maintenance mode per the scheduled job." this looks good... in the details pane the job is listed Event Description: EnableMmode WriteAction : Object or Object in group OPMGRRMS1.ad was placed back into mmode. According to the schedule: UCLA - TEST 4 This alert appears 10 times !!! still looking why? there are 6 servers in the lis Object(s) Selected in the ScheduledMaintenanceMode.exe. It is on 1 server which is the RMS which should not go into MM anyway so it is correct to get something. On another point I was expecting an alert when the servers (other than RMS) were placed into MM and Exit MM, is it not included? Also in the ScheduleMaintenanceMode.exe it is still listed as "Scheduled" even if under the schedule it is noted "Run Once"... I am confused... In the SCOM Console > Monitoring > Scheduled Maintenance Mode > Job History Events there is nothing!!! The tool is working for me on a CU2 system but not at all on a CU4 system. I enabled tracing and inside the log it says error upon running my job, and that it is 'written to Event log.' I see no events written in the Event view console. I'm gonna get fired if I can't figure out auto maint mode on this CU4 new deployment. UGH Please help.
