Scheduled shutdown with a twist..
Hi. i've been tasked with scheduling a shutdown for machines in the evening, approx 8PM, however i need the user to be able to dismiss the prompt if they are working, and if not - shutdown gracefully, i was considering using the shutdown -i but wondering how to integrate this into SCCM maintenance window?

Are you doing this for power savings? If so I'd suggest you use the built-in power management feature or for something much more robust look at one of the two major vendors who supply a robust power management solution for SCCM. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

We ended up having to write our own custom application to allow the user to defer shutdowns. http://www.sccm-tools.com http://sms-hints-tricks.blogspot.com

Thanks for all your replies. I look forward to telling management that the solution is another boxed product..
