Sccm Secondary Server Crashed

Hi

My secondary sccm server crashed. Do I need to re install the clients on the machines whose MP was the crashed server....? or just rebuild the server and clients will automatically start communicating to the secondary server?

Hi

If your secondary site server has crashed and you're unable to recover it, you'll need to delete the secondary site from the ConfigMgr primary site before rebuilding or replacing the server, as part of this you should assign the boundaries for the secondary site to the primary site temporarily.

When you have rebuilt the server you should set it up as a new secondary site server and follow the normal process, then reassign the boundaries to the secondary site.

With regards to the SCCM clients in the secondary site, they detect the MP and DP in the primary site and continue to function nor

You mean SCCM server or the windows server itself in that case you may have to delete the site from the console of its primary and when rebuild done may have to install the site and DP share's also could have deleted and if the contents are in different site you may have to delete it and redistribute it or create a dp and sync the .pck files with the primary.
