Saving/Opening PDF problem from WSS 3.0
Having an issue with PDF files when we try to Save or Open them using the Send To/Download a Copy menu option from a document library. If we try to Save the PDF, it will show that 0 bytes were downloaded and if you try to open the saved file you receive an Adobe message that Adobe Reader cannot open the file... If we try to Open the PDF (instead of Saving), we receive the same Adobe message. We have 2 other SharePoint farms (MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0) that are working fine. It appears that this is affecting all PDF files on this 1 farm. It is not affecting any other file types that I've tested. We are able to open a PDF by just clicking it and can save it fine by right clicking and selecting "Save Target As". However, we have many users that use the Download a Copy method to save their files (and it's kind of hard to tell them not to use a menu item for certain file types). We are running WSS 3.0 on 2003 servers and 2005 SQL.

Hi, Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe reader? Which version you have currently. If the above does not work try upgrading your version. Thanks, Rahul Rashu

The issue seems to be on your machine. However, to verify that settings are fine for this farm check following things Check if PDF is not under blocked types Check if proper PDF iFilter is installed Check the search crawl logs to see if PDF files are getting crawled or not?
