SUP communication between CAS and primary sites
How do SUP work between CAS and the primary sites? Does it work if only WSUS and SUP is install on CAS server and just SUP install for the rest of the primary sites and it will sync across the main catalog from the CAS? Or rather need to install WSUS and SUP individually for each primary sites to work for the synchronization of the catalogs? Does the replication between the SUP using sql replication via the sql broker and sql instance port?

There has to be a SUP on each primary site (can also be installed on a remote server). Ports: see https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427328.aspx

Thanks for the reply, so it means to say that only one WSUS server on the CAS is necessary and the rest of the primary sites will just need SUP to leverage on the SUP on WSUS server on the CAS for software update metadata when the SUP on CAS is initialized with synchronization?

No, a software update point always needs its own WSUS.

I am using export import server function for WSUS as there is no internet connection to MS update.

Does it mean to say that I need to import WSUS catalog for each individual primary sites WSUS and sync to their SUP even if I am using CAS for intersite replication to the SUP of the primary sites?
