STSADM crashes
Hi. I need to run an update to the content database on a server running SBS 2003 as per the Microsoft KB841216. When I try and run the upgrade command "stsadm -o upgrade -forceupgrade" I get an error regarding the application crashing and then in the command prompt I get the below. Unhandled Exception: System.Security.SecurityException: Failure decoding embedded permission set object. at Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPGlobalAdmin.get_ServerCulture() at Microsoft.SharePoint.StsAdmin.SPStsAdmin.Main(String[] args) The server is running WSS 2.0 SP3. Anyone any ideas? Thanks in advance R

Dont have much clue but came across a similar thread where the person mentioned a way by which he resolved the issue. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointadmin/thread/728a1ca5-2f4b-4276-b87d-9ce54e2ea95a

Hi there. Thanks for that. Changing the .net1 security seems to have sorted the issue of not being able to run stsadm. Much appreciated.
