SSRS report model error
I have created the shared datasource for the reportdata model Name : RMQDdatasource. In the Type drop-down list, select Report Server Model. In the Connection string area, type: Server=http://localhost/reportserver; datasource=/models/adventure works. Credentials-Windows Authentication (Integrated Security) and i went to create the report In Solution Explorer, right-click Reports and then select Add New Report. The Report Wizard opens.The Select the Data Source page appears. In the Shared data source drop-down list, select RMQBdatasource. On the Design the Query page, click Query Builder. when i clicked the query builder i am getting this error.. -------------------------------------------------------------------- System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The operation you are attempting on item "/models/Adventureworks" is not allowed for this item type. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.WrongItemTypeException: The operation you are attempting on item "/models/Adventureworks" is not allowed for this item type. at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005Impl.ListModelPerspectives(String Path, ModelCatalogItem[]& ModelCatalogItems) at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005.ListModelPerspectives(String Model, ModelCatalogItem[]& ModelCatalogItems) ---------------------------- Exception of type 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.RsProxy.WrongItemTypeException' was thrown. ---------------------------- Failed to list semantic model perspectives. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- can any one help me out since i am new to ssrs

I had this very issue and spent at least a day looking for the answer. The last entry in the string below is the Report model name that you deployed to the server without the .smdl extention. (not a folder). A more descriptive string would be datasource=/folder/subfolder/deployed report model name (without the .smdl extention) datasource=/models/adventure works
