Srivatsan, As Uri suggested that it could be UAC issue. Try doing this, Right-click on report manager link and 'Run as administrator'. Check whether you are able to resolve it. Regards, Manoj *Happy to help http://fascinatingsql.wordpress.com/

If you set a host header, please see this blog. It fixed mine. Solution: <foo> is considered a "Host Header". It is an alternate name for the computer on which SSRS is installed. You will need to add the NetBIOS and Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) for <foo> to the list of BackConnectionHostNames stored in the Windows Registry. Casing does not matter. Use the steps in Method 2: Specify host names in KB 896861, with the following adjustment. Step 7 of the KB article says "Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the IISAdmin service." Instead, just reboot the computer. This is the correct solution for security reasons that I'll explain later in this article. For example, if <foo> is a Windows machine name like “contoso”, then it likely also can be referenced in FQDN form as “contoso.domain.com”. You will need to add both representations to the list in BackConnectionHostNames. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lukaszp/archive/2008/07/18/reporting-services-http-401-unauthorized-host-headers-require-your-attention.aspx

Hi Srivatsan, Thanks for your post. Based on the error message you provided, you may need to run as an administrator to access the Report Manager URL. I assume that you installed the reporting services on your local host, and your current logon account is admin-level account, please refer to the steps below to have a try: 1. Click start menu, find Internet explorer. 2. Right-click it, select Run as administrator. 3. Type in the http://<Server name>/Reports in the URL. Moreover, you can also take use of UAC to add your current account into local administrators group, which will make your current account as administrators without having to switch users, log off, or use Run As when you access Report manager URL. Please note that you should assure your current account has been authorized to access to report server. If you have anything unclear, please feel free to let me know. Thanks, Bill LuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
