SSRS page footer question
Hi all Can we show the page footer data the top of the last page if the last page happens to be empty. Suppose I have 5 page report and footer is displayed on 6th page. even though 6th page is fully blank it displays the footer data at the bottom of page 6. I want to display it at the top of page 6 if that happens to be empty. Hope my question is clear. thanksMohammed

No. Actually a report consists of 3 parts, namely, Header, Body & Footer. All these part occupy default positions in the report and cannot be changed.

Hi There Thanks for your posting. I assume you have to adjust your report margins. This should not be happening in the normal situations that you just have the footer on the last page. If your last page only contains the footer I would suggest you please if you have any textbox on the footer try to set cangrow property to false. If you are using SSRS 2008 Please try to Set ConsumeContainerWhitespace to true in report property and see if it make any difference for you. The total width of Body, Left margin and Right margin must be less than or equal to Page width. When you see blank pages being rendered it is almost always because the body width plus margins is greater than the page width. So make sure that the total width of Body, Left margin and Right margin less than or equal to Page width in your report. Body Width <= Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin) Horizontal usable area: X = Page.Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin + Column Spacing) Vertical usable area: Y = Page.Height - (Top Margin + Bottom Margin + Header Height + Footer Height) I hope this will help Many thanks Syed Qazafi Anjum

Hi Mohammed F, I agree with Kshitiz Kothari's answer. Syed's solution will not be applicable to your issue/requirements because margins are applicable to all the pages of the report. But Syed has pointed out IMP point as well that "how to remove the last blank page?" So i guess, what you should find out is "Why is your last page completely empty??" if you have issue with that then we can fix that. Thanks, Khilit http://www.bigator.com

Hi Mohammed, In reporting service, you can format the page header and footer's border color, border style, and border width. You can also add a background color or background image. However, you could not change header and footers height dynamically to grow or shrink. And you could not change header and footers positions dynamically to matching the page size. They are rendered on every page at the height specified when you created the header or footer. On pages where the header or footer is hidden, the height of the header or footer is still reserved within the usable page area, even though the header or footer is not rendered. That is the reason why there is still some empty in the page header, this is by design. We appreciate your comprehension. Regards, Charlie Liao
