Do you mean you can’t see the Run as Administrator option in the SharePoint Central Administrator item? Firstly, you need to assure your current login account belongs to the Administrator group in this computer, then as a workaround, you can also run Internet Explorer as an administrator and then paste the URL of SharePoint Central Administrator it to browser it, as a result, the all controls in Central Administration should be enabled, please have a try. Hello The installation of Sharepoint is on six servers: SQL1 & SQL 2 Clustered SQL AP1 and AP2 Application FE1 and FE2 Front-end Report Servers databases are on SQL1. Reporting server has been installed on SQL1 and AP1. Reporting Add-in for Sharepoint is installed on FE1, AP1, SQL1 http://1.2.3.4/Reports_xxxxxDB works but I am getting an error on http://1.2.3.4/Reports_xxxxxMT The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer. The two are using the same SQL Server IP 1.2.3.4 ... they have different instances of SSRS... Reading again the documents I have more questions: - should I create a web application in SharePoint? a Site Collection? Are they already created with the Reporting Services? Prerequisites: Verify that IIS (if it is installed) does not have virtual directory with the same name you plan to use. I don't see any virtual directory with the name I have in SSRS...!!!! on the Application Server IIS ... and on the Front-End Server IIS It seems I miss a step ... Verify that the Report Server Web Service URL is not already used especially by a SharePoint site. Hi Dom, There are a few things you need before SharePoint integration will work: A Report Server(s) configured for SharePoint Integrated mode A SharePoint farm The Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint You've said that you have 4 installations of Reporting Services (I'm assuming they are all seperate, stand-alone instances rather than a scale-out configuration). You need to choose which one you want to integrate with SharePoint and make sure that the Report Server database has been created for SharePoint integration. You can verify this when you run the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. On the SharePoint Front-end servers only (i.e. those that will be used to serve the reports), you need to install the Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint. On the Reporting Services server, you need to make SharePoint is installed. The Reporting Services machine has to be added to the same SharePoint farm as the front-end servers. To do this, the SharePoint object model must be present. Once this has been done, you then go into the SharePoint central administration site --> General Settings --> Reporting Services --> Reporting Services Integration to configure teh integration between SharePoint and SSRS. I have the Run as but not the Run As Administrator on the SharePoint Central Administration item that I could see on a Command Prompt Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Hi Rob SharePoint is running in a farm with six servers: SQL1 and SQL2 (SQL Servers) AP1 and AP2 (Application Servers) FE1 and FE2 (Front-End Servers) I have Reporting services already running for one instance not sharepoint integrated on SQL1. I am installing a new instance for SharePoint Integrated but I am not sure if it is on SQL1 or AP1 as per the various articles listed in this thread it shows the Reporitng Services on the Application Server not on the SQL server which is ONLY hosting the databases for Report Server. Trying a new install again of the Add-In after removing the actual one, rebooting the server... hopefully the Uninstall will be cleaner... The report servers have to be added into the SharePoint farm, so SharePoint must be installed on the Report Servers to do so. Installing SSRS on the application server would work, but make sure this isn't going to affect performance. If you leave SSRS where it is, then you would also need to install SharePoint on the SQL Server machine(s) as well. The Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint has to be installed on all the front-end servers that will be serving reports. Hi Dom, There are a few things you need before SharePoint integration will work: A Report Server(s) configured for SharePoint Integrated mode A SharePoint farm The Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint You've said that you have 4 installations of Reporting Services (I'm assuming they are all seperate, stand-alone instances rather than a scale-out configuration). You need to choose which one you want to integrate with SharePoint and make sure that the Report Server database has been created for SharePoint integration. You can verify this when you run the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. On the SharePoint Front-end servers only (i.e. those that will be used to serve the reports), you need to install the Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint. On the Reporting Services server, you need to make SharePoint is installed. The Reporting Services machine has to be added to the same SharePoint farm as the front-end servers. To do this, the SharePoint object model must be present. Once this has been done, you then go into the SharePoint central administration site --> General Settings --> Reporting Services --> Reporting Services Integration to configure teh integration between SharePoint and SSRS. Hi Rob, As the Report servers are on the SQL Server for SharePoint it should already be part of the farm, isn't it? The ClusterSP is part of the Farm as Windows SharePoint Databses Services are installed on it. I will installed the add-in on the front-end servers. Do you mean you can’t see the Run as Administrator option in the SharePoint Central Administrator item? Firstly, you need to assure your current login account belongs to the Administrator group in this computer, then as a workaround, you can also run Internet Explorer as an administrator and then paste the URL of SharePoint Central Administrator it to browser it, as a result, the all controls in Central Administration should be enabled, please have a try. Hell Bill, - No it is Sharepoint 2007 with 2 Front-End Servers, 2 Applications Servers and a SQL Cluster with 2 nodes. - Yes I do not see the RunAs Administrator on the Application Servers, I have only the Run As and it asks for crecdentials... - Yes my account is a Local Administrator on all servers - Yes my account is farm administrator The Front-End Web Servers needing the Add-In are separated from the Application Servers hosting the Sharepoint Central Administeration Console needing the Reporting Services if I follow the msdn document... it is where it is so consfused!!! Additionally, if your report server database is located on a separate server from the SharePoint server, you can refer to the two points below: 1. For deployments that include a SharePoint server farm, install a SharePoint Web front-end on the report server computer. The Web front-end joins the report server computer to a SharePoint farm. Installing the Web front-end on the report server computer is only necessary if you deploy the report server and the SharePoint technology instance on separate computers. 2. For deployments that include placing the SharePoint databases on the same computer as the report server, configure the Report Server service to run under a domain account. This step is only necessary if the report server and application databases are one computer, and the SharePoint Web application is on another computer.
