SSRS and Mulitiple Instances
Let's try this: 1) Run the Reporting Services (of the R2 instance) Configuration applet; 2) Stop and start the services in the Instance page; then 3) Go to the Web Service URL page and select the needed [existing] certificate and apply the setting.Arthur My Blog

Hi Arthur I will let you know how I get on with this, unfortunatley, I am not the administrator of the box so I will have to get someone else to do this. Do you have to do this for the Report Manager URL as well?

Hi There I hope someone can help me with this one. I have a set up as so: We have a server, on which I have SQL 2008 with Reporting Services. This server also hosts an application that delivers the reports via an external URL. There is an SSL certificate installed on this machine so that all content, including the reports are delivered securely. The application references the external URL of the Reporting service. I can access the exiting 2008 Report Manager, Report Directory, Report Service and Report Execution Service using both the internal address, and the external address, I can also access the internal address without using SSL. Recently, an instance of SQL 2008 R2 has been added so that we can start using the features in R2, a R2 Reporting Services has been added. I cannot access the instance as yet, I get the 'The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel'. Having researched this, all comments point to this article : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345223%28v=sql.105%29.aspx My question is then, can I bind the R2 instance to the existing certificate and access the new reporting service using the existing url, obviously using the correct path to the new R2 Reporting Service. Also, has anyone else successfully configured SSRS in this way with multiple instances? Many thanks.
