SSRS URL Access v/s Web Service Access
Hey All, Just been trying to understand the exact use case for accessing / rendering a report using the SSRS Web Services (ReportService and ReportExecution) instead of actually not doing it thru URL Access... In other words, when is the Web Service access preferred over the URL Access method (I know of the URL lenght limitation)... Thanks. Cheers, IceQB

Hey IceQB - I can give you an example, we use the web service to render a report directly to a PDF file programmatically. In our case the main advantage of this is that we get a byte stream returned - you don't actually have to save the file immediately. Josh Ash
