SSRS Service unexpected termination
Of late I am seeing this error in the Windows System Even Log The SSRS Service is set to auto start after one minute and so no outage is reported. But how to investigate as to why this has happened is my question .DVP Rao

Of late I am seeing this error in the Windows System Even Log ----------------------- Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7031 Date: 7/4/2012 Time: 9:25:40 AM User: N/A Computer: SRS-BOT02 Description: The SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The SSRS Service is set to auto start after one minute and so no outage is reported. Hello SQLCHANTER, Thank you to post your questions on the forum. In order to narrow down this kind of issue, please try to answer me the following questions. What version of SQL server are you using? Did you install some service package (SP) or Cumulative Update (CU) for SQL server?Can you post out the error log of reporting service? It is located at c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles\ (for SQL Server 2012). If you are using SQL Server 2008 R2, please change the MSRS11 to MSRS10_50. If the version is 2008, please change the MSRS11 to MSRS10. Thank you for responding Edward. I am using SQL SSRs 2005 x64 ENT on windows 2003 SP2 x64 STD. I can sned you hte even logs if you want fo rthe entry i mentioned above. Which SQL Server error log do you want to see ? There are maultiple error logs. ( ReportServer log ReportServerService log ReportServerWEbService log etc... Thanks SQLCHANTer

I consider the error message is not large, but it can reflect the status of the error. We can analyze the error message for you to see whether we can find the root cause of this issue.
