SSRS Report Manager - ReportSuccess But Not Resulting on IE
My problem is that a report will intermittently not result via the web interface. We have two report servers running report manager, 2005 and 2008, currently. I am not an admin, but in my org there's a lack of experience with the report/report server issues. I have asked for support on this and the findings are naught. There are no locks or timeouts. This problem is intermittent, so it's difficult to reproduce. If I look at the execution log on the server though, it appears as if it had. What happens to the user is that the graphic showing the wheel just perpetually spins. Since it's intermittent, it's difficult to replicate, but with the known conditions it seems as if there's some sort of communication interruption. Here's the temporary solution which might also help diagnose the problem: if I move the report to a cache plan, the first execution is lost and never results, but the second results immediately. If it's helpful it also seems to impact reports which have a runtime over 4 minutes. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, because this problem degrades the value of our reports when the service is inconsistent.

Thanks Mike. Honestly, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I've been suggesting that, but the IT team keep just looking at the report server since it's the easiest to troubleshoot.
