SSRS RDL PROBLEM
HI ALL
i AM A BEGINNER IN SSRS AND I HAVE CREATED A RDL FILE IN WHICH I HAVE DISPLAYED THE DATA AS PER REQUIREMENT BUT PROBLEM IS OCCURING WHEN DATE CHANGES..
IN REPORT THERE IS PARAMETERS STATE,DISTRICT,@FROMDATE,@TODATE,COMMODITY NAME,SCHEME NAME WHERE MULTIPLE SELECTION IS ALLOWED IN THESE PARAMETERS.
I WANT TO SEE THE DETAILS OF THE COMMODITIES ;SCHEMEWISE. MEANS OPENING BALANCE,PROFIT,LOSS AND CLOSING BALANCE OF THE SELECTED COMMODITIES AND SCHEMES. I WANT ,WHEN DATE CHANGES THE CLOSING BALANCE OF THE SAME SCHEME WILL BE THE OPENING BALANCE IN FURTHER
DATE.BUT IT IS NOT SHOWING THE PREVIOUS DATE CLOSING BALANCE..INSTEAD IT IS SHOWING THE INITIAL VALUE FROM THAT DATE..SO CAN ANY BODY HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.I WILL BE VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS..PLEASE HELP IF ANYONE CAN.

Hi Sushma,
Can you post your sample dataset in form of a table variable or temporary table and some insert statements ? So that We can create the report locally and revert you back asap.

Hi Milan,
In report , thr are multiple schemes like AAY,APL,BPL etc. The closing balance Value on 4-april should be the opening balance value to the next date for that particular scheme..but as u can see on 22 Apr its showing 0 as opening balance.so how can I resolve
this problem..please tell me.

Hi Sushma,
Use the look up function
=Lookup( Fields!ID.Value ,Fields!ID.Value,Fields!Sales.Value,"DataSet1")
See the below image and Check for Id 3 where I get the previous value of 3 in the last column

i have used lookup function but when commodity changes it compares wheat schemes values,,
August 24th, 2015 2:28am
=Lookup(Fields!schemeid.Value,Fields!schemeid.Value,Fields!stocktrasfertoday.Value, "Stockmaster")
August 24th, 2015 2:29am
=Lookup(Fields!schemeid.Value,Fields!schemeid.Value,(Fields!OB.Value+Fields!gainqty.Value+Fields!recieptqty.Value-Fields!lossqty.Value-Fields!dispatchnetweight.Value ), "Stockmaster")

Why don't you arrange the Schemes in order i.e AAY will appear as consucative rowsa nd then get the previous value of the closing balance using previous fun
August 24th, 2015 2:33am
Commodity name is the field name in the stockmaster dataset..and when i am paasing tht it is showing error.

Hi Sushma,
Can U try the above approach in my previous reply
August 24th, 2015 2:43am
yes the same approach i hve tried and i hv sent u the expresion which i used..please i m very much stuck from last week for the same problem but i hv still not found any solution of this.
August 24th, 2015 2:47am
shall i send u the screen shot of output after changes
August 24th, 2015 2:48am
Hey I have edited my post if you have a look. The approach I am suggesting you right now is sort the records on scheme name and then get the previous value using previous function and that should work for you.

not working

Can you mail your rdl file along with a dummy dataset(in form of table variable and some insert statements) so that I can fix it for you .
