SSRS Indicators to Behave Like Star Ratings
Hello,
I am using SSRS (SQL Server 2008 R2) and want to show Start Rating (ex: 2 star Filled out of 5 stars = 2 Filled and 3 Empty or 2.5 filles and 2.5 empty) based on some numeric value similar to forums. I am using the Indicator control and using Type = 5 Stars
Rating. How can I achive this using this control.
Also I see one 3 star and and other 5 star rating type.
Thanks,
Prabhat

Hi Prabhat_IE,
Thanks for the question. It is possible to achieve the target by using star ratings in indicator control. Paul Turley had ever handled one similar
question, please refer to it:
Star
ratings in SSRS using indicators
Also refer to the MSDN article about indicators control:
Indicators
(Report Builder 3.0 and SSRS)
Thanks,
Sharp Wang

But the thread using images instead of Indicator control. Is there a way we can use Indicator for the same purpose?
Also the links in that thread are dead http://www.sqlserverbiblog.com/2010/03/11/CreatingABusinessScorecard.aspx.
And the MSDN article does have anythingto difference between 3 star and 5 star Ratings :(.
Thank you for your reply.
EDIT: on Bing I could get the link for above task by Paul Turley:
http://sqlserverbiblog.wordpress.com/2010/03/11/creating-a-business-scorecard/ Will read this to understand.

Yes, Prabhat_IE. IF you didn't want to use images for an instead, we have to use the default Ratings patterns for the indicator control. For instance, I choose 5 stars in the Ratings patterns list. Then setting the suitable ranges for the states, just
like the first screenshot, the effect is the second screenshot.
