SSRS 2008r2 Report Builder 500 (permissions) error refreshing fields on query...
Hi all, I'm trying to roll out a report model for use by people other than me. The data source and model are deployed, no problem. When I load the model in Report Builder, I am able to add new dataset queries, and everything works fine. When anybody else tries to refresh fields/validate a query, they receive the error: The permissions granted to user '[domain\username]' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) The guy I'm having guinea pig it for me has been granted System Administrator role in Report Manager. He also has explicit permissions on the data source and report model. What more permissions are there that I apparently have, but he does not??? Thanks for any tips, sff

It seems that the user(s) need to be assigned the ReportBuilder fixed Item Role.Arthur My Blog

To clarify: Other user CAN do the following: Open the deployed model in report builder. Successfully perform Test Connection on the data source within report builder (rightclick datasource, properties, test) Other user CANNOT: Refresh Fields on creating a new data set with a simple query. --- I myself am able to perform all of the above, as well as go from a query to creating/running/saving/deploying the report builder report. thanks, sff
