SSRS 2008 Subscription with two or more MDX parameters
Help! I have an MDX based SSRS report that runs fine with three MDX parameters (SharePoint integrated mode). When I try to setup a simple subscription it takes the first parameter fine, but when I select the second parameter from the list it refreshes the screen and removes the second parameter leaving only the first. SQL based subscriptions work fine with multiple parameters. We thought it might be the following KB article but we loaded it with no changes http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971068 Any help would be great Ken

Hi Ken, Here you mentioned two parameters, are they cascading parameters? Have you restarted the server after you install the hotfix? By generally, we should retart it to make it take effect. Please give a feedback. Thanks, Challen FuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

The report has three parameters, it does the same for any reports that have two or more MDX parameters (no problem with SQL queries). I don't think they are cascading since it does not filter the results in the second and third parameter list box. We'll try and get the servers restarted tonight and I'll post the results. Thanks, Ken

The reboot didn't do anything. Still won't take a second parameter Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken SS, In order to further troubleshoot this issue, you can delete the reoprt's item, then deploy it to report server, then create the subscription to see whether it has the same issue, then you could figure out where the reason lay in(Parameter or report item), if it is the issue of parameter, you can post your MDX query for your report's parameter for us to troubleshoot this issue continually. Thanks, Challen FuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

Hi Ken, Are you talking about multiple parameters being selected in a multi-select dropdown? Or multiple-parameters being selected in separate single-select SSRS dropdowns? If the problem is the former, you'll need to make sure that your parameter is defined with the multi-select option selected on the Parameter Properties dialog, then use the STRTOSET(@param) MDX function in your MDX query code to parse the multiple selections into a set in your query. If you're having issues with selecting more than one single-select parameter at a time, you've got me stumped and will need to provide more information.
