SSRS 2008 R2 Standard - Deploy Report Manager and Report Server on Different Servers?
I am using SSRS 2008 R2 Standard edition and am wondering if it supports installing the Report Manager and Report Server pieces on different servers? I have followed the instruction in the following link and cannot get it to work: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281384.aspx I have also been through the white paper Manage Kerberos Authentication Issues in a Reporting Services Environment ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff679930.aspx ). ServerA - SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard, Window Server 2008 ServerB - Windows Server 2008, IIS 6.1, SSRS 2008 R2 Standard When I access the Report Server through IE on ServerB all is well. I can access the reports, run them and manage the site. When I try the same link on my client machine I get the three login prompts if I'm not using port 80 and if I am using port 80 I get and 401 error. As I change things I make sure to keep the SPNs up to date. I am using a domain account, the same on both servers, to run the services. -Thanks

You mean to say you have the ReportServer DB on one machine and Reporting Services application on another? Did you allow remote connections and configure the Reporting Services using ReportingServices configuration Manager on Server B? Also, Check to see if you have reporting services installed on both the machines. If you can see the ReportingServices Service under the Services of the system, then, its a farm, and you need to configure it for a farm.
