SSRS 2008 R2 SharePoint-integrated Migrate path to 2012
Would the following be possible for migration. We have: SharePoint Server 2010 SP1 farm (Prod) SharePoint Server 2010 SP1 farm (Test) SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 Reporting Services server SharePoint-integrated to Prod Is it possible to create another SQL Server 2012 SSRS instance on the Reporting Services Server and integrate it with Test? That is two instances of SSRS SharePoint integrated on the same server with different versions. Then use the 2012 instance to go live on Prod?

That is correct, hence the migration path proposed. No SharePoint farm will have multiple SSRS - each farm will only have one SSRS instance at any one time.

Are you saying that if I am just starting developing reports using BIDS (Business Inteligence Development Studio) from SQL Server 2008 R2 to display them on to a fairly new instance of SharePoint 2010 Enterprise farm, with upgrading to SQL Server 2012 not far down the road, should I try and upgrade soon and start developing my report through the new SQL Server 2012 Data Tools right off? Related, is there a link outlining the migration steps from SQL Server 2008 R2 to SQL Server 2012 with respect to SharePoint 2010 farm instance? Thank you much. Radu
