SSRS 2008 R2 Repeat Headers for some static elements but not all
Hi All, I have created a table in SSRS 2008 R2, that has two header rows, one grand total row, a group, and details. I would like for the two header rows to repeat on all pages, but nothing else. I have gone to the advanced section in the grouping pane, selected the appropriate options for the first two static items (repeat: yes, keep with group: after). I have left the third static row alone (as this is the grand total row that should only be on the first page). Unfortunately SSRS does not like that, and gives an error message telling me that the third static item also has to have "repeatOnNewPage" set to true (exact message: "The tablix has an invaled TablixMember. The TablixMember must have the same value set for the RepeatOnNewPage property as those following or preceding the dynamic TablixMember. (Expected Value: "True"; Actual Value: "False")). That third static item (the grand total) was created by SSRS by right clicking on the Row Group in the grouping panel and selecting "add totals" and then "above". Can it really be true that SSRS expects the grand total (that it created) to repeat on every page??? It seems like an all or nothing scenario....either every static row above a group must repeat, or none of them. Is this true?? Does anyone out there have any ideas for having two of three static rows repoeating on all pages, and the third static row be only on the first page? Thanks so much! Kim

Hi Kim, I have reproduced your issue in my local environment according to your description, its seems that you design your report in a table, right? Just as you said either every static row above a group must repeat, or none of them. If you set two of three static rows repeating on all pages, some errors will occur. Base on your scenario, I suggest that you design your report in a matrix. Then you can set the tablix property to achieve your requirement. The steps below are for your reference: 1. Add two header rows, one grand total row, a group and details into the matrix. 2. Right-click the handle of the matrix, select Tablix Properties to open the Tablix Properties window. 3. Select Repeat header columns on each page on the Column Headers check-box. And then click OK to close the window. The report looks like below: If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hi, Realized that I never replied... Using a Matrix instead of a table does in fact get me where I need to be. Thanks for the advice!
