I have a Tablix object in SSRS 2008 R2. For one of the Matrix's textbox the data element (right click) Place Holder's Properties / Action /Go To Report i have set parameters as necessary. One of the parameters in the report being opened is based on a dataset that is based on a User defined function that returns a list of items (the choices to reoprt on). This User Defined function uses the User!UserID to limit the data returned to the parameter list. It appears the User!UserID is not being accepted by the report being open by the Go To Report action. Has anyone had experience with making this type of parameter passing work in SSRS 2008 R2? thanks for you time and energy.

Hi Nancykgold, I think there is no need for you to pass the UserID from the main report to subreport, what you should pass is the value for the subreport’s parameter, so in the main report, you could get the parameter value filtered by the UserID, then pass the value to the subreoprt.
