SSRS 2008 New Subscription e-mail delivery excel file
Hi Guys, Need some help debugging this report subscription ... I have a report set up to do a regular subscription (not a data driven subscr) and get the status "The delivery extension for this subscription could not be loaded" in the mysubscription in Report Manager. I have my smtp set up and I know the email adress I send the report to and the smtp server work. However I noticed that to configure email delivery in the SSRS COnfiguration tool I didn't provide a port and also if SSL is required...also this instance is running in a cluster and I am wondering if it requires further configuration for a cluster.. How would I go troubleshooting this issue..are there anmy log files that point me more to the cause of the issue? Please let me know. Thx Ludwig

Ok, it started working but it does not deliver it according to schedule...every 5 minutes...wondering if it does not close a connection after it sends a request to send an email...? Anyone having issues with this as swell?

Hi Ludwig AR, Based on your description, my understanding is that, your subscription works well, but it does not deliver the Email according to the schedule, right? Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. Basically, the subscription should deliver follow the schedule you have defined, could you please check the schedule used for the subscription? 1. Open “Report Manager” using http ://< servername>/reports. 2. Click “My Subscriptions” on the report manager. 3. Click “Edit” next to the report that has the subscription you need to check the schedule. 4. Check the schedule in “Subscription Processing Options” section. If the issue still exists with your subscription, could you please supply more information about the issue, such as what steps you have taken to create the subscription, and what errors you got and so on, and then we could help you more effectively. Thanks, Eileen

Thx Eileen, Yes, it is working but does not deliver based on schedule. I did all the steps you mentioned. Our Mail server administrator told me that he only gets meassage for those I get emails..so I assume that something on the box where this subscription runs does prevend sending the message to the mail server create and send the email...The a file share based subscription work beautifully on time evry time. Thx Ludwig

Hi Ludwig AR, Generally, we can look at the logs at <DISKDRIVE>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles folder in the ReportServerService log files. The file would contain error messages for automatic e-mail delivery of the reports through a subscription. Thanks. Eileen
