SSRS 2008 Development from share drive
I have 10 developers working on SSRS (1 solution folder, many RDLs). It has been a cumbersome process to get the latest rdls from each developers. Is there way, I can configure their BIDS 2008, to point to a network share drive?
Right now, the rdls get copied into their local system (my document --> visual studio 2008 -> projects)
Your suggestion will be of great help.
Thanks,
Raj

Hi Raj,
We can open a project from a network shared folder or save a project to a network shared folder in Business Intelligence Development Studio(BIDS). The steps as below:
Click "File" > "Open" > "Project/Solution" Type the network path in the "File Name" textbox, e.g.
\\server\BIDSProjects Open the appropriated solution.
Then, we can configure the BIDS in each engineer's computer to open the latest solution when startup:
In BIDS, click "Tools" > "Options" In "Environment" > "Startup", set the "As startup:" to be "Load last loaded solution"
Additionally, we can configure the BIDS'w working space to the network shared folder too:
In BIDS, click "Tools" > "Options" In "Project and Solutions" > "General", type the network path in the "Projects location". e.g.
\\server\BIDSProjects (This will save or open a solution from the network shared folder by default.)
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
