SSRS 2008 - The current identity does not have write access to RSTempFiles
HI, thanks for the response. The account has full control on the whole server; this is what puzzled me. The only other thing I can think of is another process is locking the folder, so it can't be written to.Brody Kilpatrick

Our reporting services instance is not working correctly. We have several of the below errors in the event log. The reference account DOES have write access to RSTempFiles. We have 2000 customers unable to access reports currently. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Failed to initialize the AppDomain:ReportServer_MSSQLSERVER_0 Exception: System.Web.HttpException Message: The current identity (NA\RemovedAccountnameforSec) does not have write access to 'E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\RSTempFiles\'. Hello Brody, Thanks for your detail call stack and description. From my experience, the possible issue is that the account still does not have the enough permission and I suppose that you can grant the account "full control" permission to the folder "E:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\RSTempFiles\" first. If it can works, we may try to grant the account only read and write permission. In addition, you mentioned that you have many similar errors in your log files. I need you to confirm that all the target folders are same, and all these accounts are granted as the "full control" permission. You can refer the article, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd349321(v=ws.10).aspx to get more information about the file and folder permission. Hello Brody, It is very strange. I consider that we can capture a process monitor log on the server side to see what happened. Here are detail instructions. You can download the process monitor from the site: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645Run the process monitor on the server side.Reproduce this issue.Stop the process monitor capture, and click "Save" > All events to save the process monitor logs. Then, we can analyze the process monitor log. It will contains many items. We need use the filter to exclude something. First, we can keep reporting service item only, and try to find out whether there are any items with "Access Denied" result. If you find this kind of issue, please double click the item to open "Event Properties" dialog. Click the Process tab to see the account. Grant the account the read and write permission to the RSTempFiles folder. I hope my troubleshooting steps can help you find out the cause. Also, you can share the captured PML (Process monitor log) file and we can investigate it for you. Regards, EdwardEdward Zhu TechNet Community Support
