SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008 - Error
Hi, I tried to convert 2005 report to 2008. I get error “ ‘ ’ hexadecimal value 0x1F, is an invalid character” while deploying the report in 2008. The query have the statement (Replace(abc,’’,’’))) , which is the cause of the error. When I change the statement to (Replace(abc,CHAR(31),CHAR(31))), the issue is solved. Why is this ‘’ creates problem in 2008. If I execute the statement in SQL Server Management studio, the query gets executed successfully. Does SSRS 2008 executes query in different way? Please help me to understand what the cause behind this error in SSRS 2008? Thanks a lot, adhvi

Hello, I am unaware of the backend processing but I think it uses XML for the purpose and may be 0x1F is not allowed in well formed XML. Thanks
