SSRS 2005 reports - Parameters slow to take input from user
Greetings, I have SSRS 2005 reports with two parameters, StartDate and EndDate. When I run the report in the internet explorer, the report takes 30 to 40 seconds to respond to the user control. I mean the calendar picker appears only if I click after 30-40 seconds from the time the report loaded. I'd appreciate your thoughts to resolve this issue. Thanks, K.

Do you use any query to set default value to these parameters? If so check the performance of that query.

is it the first report or it happens for all reports? Since, the first report of the reporting services do take quite some time to render when we access the reportserver in a given session.Regards, KarthikShanth. "Mark as Answer" if this helps you!

Thanks for your responses. 1. No. There are no default values set for this paramter. It is a basic input parameter that has a calendar picker. 2. No this is not the first report. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi Kalaiek, Does the issue also happen in the Visual studio of BIDS? Have you tried to browse this report from other machines and check if the calendar picker also take such much time to respond? thanks, Jerry
