SSRS 2005 attach to different server
I've started to use SSRS 2005 express however I need to set the "Report Services Configuration" tool to attach to a datasource on another server. I know, it's express, I can't. But unfortunately I currently do not have the budget to upgrade. I've noticed that if you install the SQL Buisness Intelligence Development tool you can create reports, as report projects and run them with no problem, however deploying them is not a possibility (as far as I can tell). Is there any type of work-around for this?

Hi, From your description, my understanding is that you want to deploy report to another report server. If I have misunderstood, please feel free to let me know. Actually, deploying report to another report server via BIDS has no relationship to the edition of the local SQL Server you installed as long as the target report server running normally. For the detail steps please follow below: 1. In Solution Explorer, right click the report project, select Properties. 2. In Report Project Property Pages window, make sure TargetDataSourceFolder, TargetReportFolder, and TargetServerURL are correct, and then click OK. 3. In Solution Explorer, right click the project, select Deploy. For more information, please refer to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159270(v=SQL.90).aspx Thanks, Albert Ye
