Hi Raymond,
Thank you for post here.
I cannot see the image you browser report in IE 9.0 due to some other reasons. If I misunderstand, please let me know.
As far as I know, Safari and Chrome are not fully supported with SQL Server 2005, and this might be a by-design behavior.
In the browser planning article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156511.aspx, it seems that IE 9.0 and Chrome are not listed in the table, and Safari and Firefox are supported in limitation. Please try to user IE 9.0 compatibility mode to see if it works for you.
Moreover, CanGrow and Can decrease value=False does not stop the text from wrapping, these properties only indicates that the text box height can increase or decrease to accommodate the contents but not the width. Actually, the width of the textbox
could not be increased or decreased based on the length of the string, it is a static value. Could you please try to increase the width of the column again?
If the issue still exists, I suggest you to submit a feedback to Microsoft at
http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope Microsoft improve this feature in the next service pack or product release.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Eileen
